After months of anticipation, the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone has landed on Indian soil officially and will soon be available for purchase. Although LG has missed the previously estimated launch frame which was set for last month, the company plans on putting the device on sale for a maximum retail price of Rs 42,500, which is bit more than our previous presumption.
The LG Optimus G Pro went official during the MWC 2013 and yes, it took the conglomerate over 4 months to get the handset into India. Well, on the bright side, the device recently went live in various other locations across Asia. In the US, it’s available through AT&T for a price of $99 on contract, while the Japanese and Korean versions are dressed with a smaller display of 5 inches wide.
The Optimus G Pro announced today carries a 5.5-inch wide 1080p full HD IPS touchscreen that proffers a 400ppi pixel density. The device falls in the same category as the recently launched Lenovo K900 and the Note 2. While the second handset is powered by a 2GHz dual core Intel processor and the third by a quad core Cortex A9 SOC, the phone in question is deployed with a Snapdragon 600 AP clocked a 1.7GHz in a quad core setup.
For hoarding content, provisions of 32GB internal memory and a microSD card slot with support of up to 64GB have be made. Additionally, the Optimus G Pro comes with 2GB of RAM and there’s a 13MP camera on the rear with 1080p HD recording. On a single charge of the 3140mAh battery, users can expect approximately 15.5 hours of talk time or around 24 days of standby.
While we know the official price of the Optimus G Pro smartphone, the exact release date for India is still under hiding. The device is expected to go on sale in both, black and white shades.
