Bigger LG Optimus G Pro spied with 5.5-inch 1080p display

LG Optimus G Pro

A bigger LG Optimus G Pro with an upgraded 1080p 5.5-inch display has been spotted with a rather impressive spec sheet and is allegedly only for Korea. The company has already seen quite a bit of success with the standard model in the US, while it moved over to Chinese and European markets after selling over a million units in the states.

The existence of a larger Optimus G Pro has been speculated and towards the end of last month it even got pinned with a release date sometime in Q1 this year. A once over at its delectable feature list leaves us genuinely impressed. The speculation states that in addition to a 5.5-inch IPS screen displaying visuals at a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, there will be quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip made to run at 1.7GHz.

There will also be LTE radio and the other things that might be expected with a really high-end flagship device. These are 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera on the rear and a 2MP front-facing snapper. Both cameras will apparently be capable of capturing video in 1080p, but exact details of the cameras haven’t come out yet.

Rounding up the jaw-dropping internal components we have a 3,140mAh battery which is worthy enough to juice up a tablet, although at this point it would be ridiculous to expect power consumption details. As the rumor goes, the handset will have 32GB of in-built storage with a microSD card slot that will be able to accept cards up to 64GB in capacity.

This juicy piece of news comes from Phone Arena, and the website says that the device might not sport a ‘unibody’ design, based on the fact that it will have a huge power unit and a ton of internal memory with the option to expand storage further.

Recently the bumped up version got an official announcement for Japanese markets and the South Korean manufacturer revealed that the flagship handset would be expanded to encompass 50 additional countries, thus furthering its LTE reach.

The bigger version of the handset has not yet been official announced but the speculation is hopeful that it will be seen in a more official cloak come the MWC later this month. And the addition of a ‘slim port’ which combines HDMI and RGB output is just the icing on top.
