With rumors about the iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 going around in full swing, those excited about the LG G5 also have something to smile about now. A few details about this phone have managed to creep out into the open, giving us an idea about what the company’s next flagship will have on offer for its buyers.
For one, you can of course expect it to come fitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. This ultra-fast CPU will be present on most Android flagships of 2016, and rightfully so. It’s reportedly breaking every benchmark record out there, owing to its advanced quad core CPU.
Fingerprint authentication is a huge deal these days, with even Google itself having incorporated the trait into its fresh Nexus smartphones. LG will probably be moving beyond that to offer iris scanning as a privacy feature. It’s being said that this assembly will be able to identify different irises from up to 50cms away.
The South Korean giant’s G2, G3 as well as G4 handsets have all grabbed 3000mAh battery packs in the past, which would lead many to believe that it will be continuing that tradition with the G5. That will seemingly not be the case as the company will be forced to upgrade the battery pack owing to the high power consumption needs of the Snapdragon 820 chipset.
According to Alphr, LG will be upgrading the phone’s main camera as well. Instead of a 16MP unit, it will be going for a 20MP sensor made by Sony. Fans can rest assured that tricks like OIS, laser autofocus, manual mode and more will be retained by the company.
