We’ve got more news on the G3 mini smartphone and it looks like the company will drop the conventional branding and use the LG G3S moniker instead. This naming strategy is quite similar to what Apple is using for its iPhones, but there’s no concrete evidence that Korean giant will implemented it on the upcoming compact phone.
Previously, the G3 Beat was considered to be the mini version of the current flagship mainly because it features the exact same design with toned down specs. However, there have been multiple rumors in the past which show the handset as something different. Along with the details about the new LG G3S branding, @evleaks has also got a sketch of the phone in question which is probably from some internal documents.
As you’d expect, it looks quite similar to the flagship phone and there’s even mention of a dual SIM model being in the works which isn’t surprising since the handset’s predecessor also arrived in multiple variants. The new phone, however, could be smaller as the screen size is said to be 4.5 inches with 720p visuals.
Processing needs will be taken care of by a 1.2GHz quad core CPU which could be the Snapdragon 400, while storage will be in the hands of 8GB flash memory and a microSD card slot. Apart from these features, the phone is said to come with a 2100mAh battery and a 5MP camera. Clearly, LG’s compact flagship is lacking behind compared to the Galaxy S5 mini and HTC One mini 2.
The LG G3S’ design may be the only key attribute worth looking forward too, but then again, these specs haven’t been confirmed as yet. The smartphone is expected to arrive in the US through AT&T.
