It’s only been a couple of days since the new iPhones’ prices for India were leaked. And already, we’re seeing a price for the LG G2 pop up along with the release date. According to Saholic, the un-Optimus phone will be available by September 30.
Additionally, the price is also hidden in the source code of the retailer’s page listing the device. Loosen those purse strings and prepare to shell out at least Rs 45,000 for the smartphone. For a 32GB capacity handset, you’ll be paying way more than you would in case you were also considering the iPhone 5C.
So this waters down to a specs showdown between these newest offerings, of course. The G2 packs in 2GB of RAM, a 2.26GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor and a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display. There’s a 2.1MP lens above the touchscreen. Android Jelly Bean 4.2 runs the show and there’s an excellent 13MP camera on the back panel.
The iPhone 5C is mostly just the iPhone 5 packed into a polycarbonate (in other words, plastic) casing. It has a 4-inch 1136 x 640p Retina display, an 8MP camera, a 1.2MP FaceTime sensor on the front, a dual core A6 chip and 16GB/32GB onboard memory. The 32GB capacity is expected to be pegged at Rs 35,500 and it may be Rs 30,000 for the 16GB one.
The Apple device can be snapped up in color choices of blue, green, yellow, white or pink, while the G2 only comes in white or black. But it’s the latter’s design that offers the bigger talking point. Apart from ditching the Optimus moniker from the name, LG has also changed the button placement so that the power and volume controls are on the back panel within easy reach of the fingers.
So which one will you pick?
