LG has unveiled a new range of personal TVs, the LG DM2752 and M2752 monitors, which double up as PC screens. With Picture-in-Picture capabilities, users can for example, watch a TV stream while working on their PCs.
The company touts the premium screens as capable of displaying any content at full HD resolution with a surround sound experience to back it up. And with new devices’ IPS panels these monitors have extremely wide viewing angles (178 degrees) and they display lifelike color. They can also be used to play movies and video clips via a USB Quick View feature, so there’s no waiting for the few seconds its takes to boot up the computer.
“With the integration of multimedia entertainment and the internet, LG is at the frontier of cutting-edge TV technology,” states J.J. Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of IT Business Unit of LG Home Entertainment Company. “We are developing unique personal TVs designed to meet the needs of changing consumer habits, whether that customer’s passion is 3D gaming, internet browsing or simply watching their favorite sitcom.”
The new DM2752 has 3D capabilities, but flicker-free glasses are required. It also packs along an easy-to-use engine which can convert 2D to 3D for viewing on-the-fly. The TV’s 3D capabilities should come in handy when playing the latest 3D video games. Two HDMI ports allow users to connect things like consoles and set-top boxes.
The LG M2752 is now available in certain markets across Europe while the DM2752 monitor will be made available come July.
