Lenovo Vibe S1 goes official with dual selfie cameras, Vibe P1 and P1m unveiled as well

The long rumored Lenovo Vibe S1 has finally managed to see the light of the day. We had learned recently that this device could ship with two selfie cameras onboard, and those rumors have turned out to be true. It has been launched by the company alongside the new Vibe P1 and P1m handsets which are focused on offering long battery lives.

While we’ve seen devices with two rear cameras, the Lenovo Vibe S1 is the first one with two snappers on its front. Meant for enhancing your selfies, this setup includes an 8MP main camera that’s assisted by a depth-sensing 2MP unit. These units are aimed at replicating ‘human binocular vision,’ according to the company. They work together to offer various functions like deciding where to focus after the image has been clicked, achieving a ‘bokeh’ effect in the background and even the facility to cut out a person and place them on another photograph.

There’s a 13MP rear camera present on this 4G supporting Lenovo device as well. This snapper has been equipped with phase-detection autofocus moreover.

Coming to the P1, this new offering boasts of a 5000mAh battery which is capable of charging other gadgets over USB OTG. Its body has been equipped with a OneKey Power Saver button that instantly doubles the battery endurance of the phone.


The device features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and runs on the combination of an octa core Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB of RAM. Other highlights of the Vibe P1 include a 13MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus, a 5MP selfie snapper, 45 hours of talktime and a fingerprint scanner on the home button.

The P1m is its smaller version, with a 5-inch 720p HD monitor and a 4000mAh battery. The processor here is a 1GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735P unit that’s assisted by 2GB worth of RAM. Owing to its large battery, this phone is able to offer 16 hours of talktime. Its camera setup includes an 8MP rear unit and a 5MP front one.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 will be released this November at $299, while the Vibe P1 will be seen arriving in October starting at $280. Its P1m variant however, will be made available later this month at $160.
