Considering that the Lenovo ThinkPad X131e is built for students, the laptop flaunts a rugged exterior that can endure everyday wear and tear. This successor to the ThinkPad X130e has an LED light light added to it to indicate if the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or not.
The notebook can either be configured with the AMD E-series APUs or Intel Inside that includes the Core i3-2367M processor and Celeron 877 chipset. Its Intel-powered version tags along Intel HD graphics as well as the Intel Learning Series software suite. This 11.6-inch laptop has also been integrated with built-in speakers and Dolby Advanced Audio for an improved acoustic experience.
“We know from experience that students are our toughest customers – literally – and for that reason we make it a point to go above and beyond our standard ruggedness features in the laptops we introduce for education,” stated Dilip Bhatia, vice president, ThinkPad Business Unit, Lenovo.
“To help combat the extreme wear and tear students subject their laptops to, we’ve designed our toughest education PC yet by incorporating heavy-duty, military-grade features, while packing the device with top of the line technology so teachers can offer students the latest in digital learning,” added Bhatia.
The ThinkPad device features an Instant Resume function and ensures a battery life of about 8.5 hours on a single charge. It tips the scales at less than four pounds and comes with reinforced hinges and stainless steel hinge brackets. It is even bestowed with a tightly aligned keyboard, a webcam, a dustless fan to prevent dust accumulation and an HDD with rubber padding.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X131e price and availability details suggest it can now be purchased from the official company website and other authorized retailers for $499.
