The Lenovo ThinkPad L430, has made its way into India to cater to the enterprise segment with a price tag that starts at Rs 42,000. Unlike most new entrants, the notebook doesn’t come with the Windows 8 platform as yet. Instead, with the aforementioned price, buyers will be treated to the 64-bit Professional version of Microsoft’s previous generation OS or they can opt for free DOS.
The ThinkPad L430 can be coupled with third generation Intel processors such as the i3, the i5 and the i7. The base variant will sport an i3 3110M chip with a 2.40GHz clock speed. Accompanying the CPU is the HD Graphics 4000 module and 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM which operates at 1600MHz. To top it off, the company has integrated its Enhanced Experience 3.0 and rapid boot technologies which reduce startup times.
The L430 ThinkPad features a 14-inch HD AntiGlare display on the upper lid, while the lower half flaunts a full-size spill-resistant keyboard that delivers quick access to various controls via multimedia keys. The exterior has been given a rugged design which is tested against humidity, vibration, high temperature, low pressure (15,000 ft), and dust amongst others.
For storage, the notebook comes with a 500GB HDD. And to ensure all data is safe, the drive has self encrypting capabilities. The company has even thrown in a fingerprint reader and a BIOS Port lock which remotely stops all I/O ports from functioning. The device is even high on entertainment as it sports Dolby Advanced Audio 2.0 and a 720p HD camera.
The Lenovo ThinkPad L430 can be purchased in the country through the company’s exclusive stores and multi-brand retail outlets. The aforementioned price excludes tax and it includes a 3-year on-site warranty. The notebook is also available in the US for $649 and above.
