The Lenovo Miix is the latest tablet from the company and it has been announced alongside the new IdeaPad S and U series laptops, all of which are expected to go on sale this summer running Windows 8. Adding to these, Lenovo recently announced the super slim ThinkPad S531 Ultrabook which has been crafted with a ‘floating’ design and is selling for a starting £575 sum.
The Lenovo Miix is basically a sibling to the ThinkPad Tablet 2 which was more of the business-centric type. Features-wise, there doesn’t appear to be much difference in terms of hardware or software. It employs a 10.1-inch HD 1366 x 768p IPS display with touch input, a dual core Intel Atom processor, 64GB of eMMC flash storage, a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB, Bluetooth 4.0, optional 3G connectivity and up to 10 hours of battery life.
Apart from the aforementioned attributes, the slate is 0.4 inches thick and it tags along a quick-flip folio case that’s detachable. The accessory comes with an integrated AccuType keyboard for quick text input. The Lenovo IdeaPad S will be deployed in 3 options. The S400 and S500 are dressed with 14-inch and 15.6-inch HD touchscreens, respectively, and they can be configured with a third generation Core i5 CPU. The S210, on the other hand, sports an 11.6-inch HD widescreen panel and an Intel Core i3 processor.
Last on the list are the Lenovo IdeaPad U330 and U430 notebooks. The company asserts that these systems qualify as Ultrabooks, measuring a starting 0.77 inches in thickness. They come with Core i7 processors from the Haswell lineup, optional Nvidia graphics and up to 1TB of HDD storage clubbed with a 16GB SSD amongst others. The former packs in a 13.3-inch screen, while the latter sports a 14-inch display, both proffering 10-point touch input and options of HD or FHD resolutions.
Coming to price details, the Miix tablet is expected to go on sale for around $500. For the touch-enabled laptops, the IdeaPad S210 will carry a $429 tag and the S400 will hit stores for $449. The S500 on the other hand, will retail for $579. Lastly, the IdeaPad U330 and U430 Touch are expected to arrive this summer for approximately $799 and $899, respectively.
