The Lenovo K8 has gotten a quiet release in India, with the brand announcing the phone’s arrival via its social media accounts. It’s the third member of the brand’s budget series and the only one to forego a dual camera setup.
This has naturally lead to a cheaper Rs 10499 price tag. Lenovo appears to be selling it only via offline outlets, unlike the K8 Note and K8 Plus. There’s only a Rs 500 difference between the K8 and Rs 10999 K8 Plus. For that much more, you’d get a MediaTek Helio P25 processor, a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, and 13MP + 5MP twin snappers at the back.
There’s also a 4GB variant of the K8 Plus which costs Rs 11999. The 3GB one isn’t currently available via Flipkart, with the e-commerce site listing it as ‘Coming Soon.’ Getting back to the K8, the phone boasts of the same stock Android experience as its siblings. However, the brand hasn’t mentioned anything about an upgrade to Oreo.
Lenovo’s blessed the handset with Dolby Atmos technology and a dedicated Music Key which lets you play, pause, skip, and rewind songs. It claims that the 4000mAh battery which has taken up residence inside can last for 32 hours of 4G talk time and 19 days of active standby.
