The price in India for the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 has been revealed to have been set at Rs. 14,000. Although it has been officially launched in the country, retailers are still to start stocking it in their outlets and online stores. It is a seven inched Android device, the US version of which came out no too long ago. Claimed by its North Carolina-based maker to be ideal for content consumption and creation on-the-go, the tablet is also said to be high on style and performance.
Equipped with a 7-inch display, the A2107 is all set to give other similar-sized slates a run for their money. These include reading-focused devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and of course the new iPad Mini. It was released in the US in December last year, and is available to purchase there at a starting cost of $199. Lenovo claims to have infused the tablet with a flurry of ‘superior preloaded apps’ which are aimed at making reading, social networking, daily life work and entertainment ‘simpler’ for its users.
This product runs Google’s Android 4.0 OS, and kicks in support for four-point multi-touch on its 7-inch capacitive touchscreen which offers 720p video playback. A 2MP camera has been placed on its rear for imaging purposes, while it also houses a 0.3MP front snapper that can be employed by users for indulging in video chats. The tablet is 3G-compatible, and also possesses Wi-Fi connectivity.
It has been fitted with a 1GHz MediaTek 6575 Cortex A9 processor which manages the device’s operations with assistance from a 1GB LPDDR2 RAM. The dimensions of the tablet read 192mm x 122mm x 11.5mm, and its weight has been set at 400gms. Essentials such as Bluetooth 4.0, a micro-USB port, a microSD card reader and dual speakers also make their way into the slate. As far as its battery life is concerned, the company has disclosed that it can go for up to 8 hours on a single complete charge, while on constant Wi-Fi streaming.
As mentioned above, the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 is still to make its way to retailers in India. When it does, it will start being sold at a cost of Rs. 14,000.
