The demand for internet-centric netbook has suddenly gone up with the leading laptop manufacturing companies joining the bandwagon of netbook manufacturers. Now, it’s Lenovo foraying into the netbook market with the IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks. The netbooks from Lenovo claim to be ultra-portable and ultra-slim with light design.
“IdeaPad netbooks are the latest in a string of recently announced Lenovo products, designed specifically for consumers worldwide and developed through our heritage of technological innovation and exceptional engineering,” said Liu Jun, senior vice president, Consumer Business Group, Lenovo. “As rapidly as the technology changes, today’s consumers are looking for mobile products that feature the best of basic computing functions in an extremely compact and affordable form, and Lenovo designed the IdeaPad netbooks for that purpose.”
Like all the good things that come in small packages, the Lenovo netbooks also pack in some cool features like an 8.9-inch screen in the IdeaPad S9 and a 10.2-inch screen in IdeaPad S10 and enhanced battery life via the energy-efficient LED-backlit display. They come in vibrant glossy colors like deep blue, ruby red and classic bold black. They also claim to have the keyboard that is 85 percent the size of a full-function notebook PC’s keyboard.
The netbooks come with WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity and an Express Card slot for users with high-speed mobile broadband connectivity. They also feature built-in web camera for video messaging, two USB ports and a 4-in-1 multi-card reader for connecting, sharing and transferring digital data like music and videos.
The netbooks come powered either with Linux or Windows XP. The other technical details include Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory and either 80 GB or 160 GB hard disk drive space, OneKey Rescue System3 on Microsoft Windows-based netbooks for data recovery with a click of a button in times of crash down due to virus or other reasons.
The IdeaPad S9 and IdeaPad 10 will be available by September at all Lenovo authorized storefronts in India.
