Following the launch of its latest convertible, Lenovo has announced the launch of Lynx K3011, it can be purchased from stores for Rs. 51,990 price. Similar to the Yoga series, this device is a hybrid laptop which operates on the Windows 8 platform, packing some of the latest technologies from Intel.
However, unlike the former which has a foldable design that allows users to operate it in various modes, the Lenovo IdeaPad Lynx K3011 possesses a detachable display which can be utilized as a standalone tablet. The main purpose of such a form factor is to deliver a balance of entertainment and productivity. Switching between modes is relatively easy – All that’s needed is to pull out the screen from its housing to utilize the device as a tablet or dock it into place for operating it with the keyboard.
Coming to the specifics, the slate is designed with a 9.45mm thick profile and weighs 667 grams. There’s a multi-touch capacitive display with 10-point input spanning 11.6 inches wide on the front and a 2MP webcam. The panel also proffers a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and 400nits brightness. Tucked away on the inside is a dual core 1.8GHz SOC that’s based on the Intel Clover Trail platform, 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM and up to 64GB of storage.
The manufacturer has dressed the slate with a texture design on the rear. While the detachable unit houses a microSD card slot, a microHDMI port, a microUSB connector and a combo audio jack, the dock brings in 2 USB ports running on the 2.0 interface. Both parts house individual batteries which can deliver 8 hours of Wi-Fi browsing each, amounting to 16 hours when combined.
