Lenovo’s officially entered the wearable market in India, looking to take on the likes of Xiaomi with its own HW01 smart band. The device is being sold only via Flipkart priced at Rs 1999.
The Lenovo HW01 looks and behaves like most other basic fitness bands, keeping track of the number of steps taken in a day, hours and quality of sleep at night, and calories burned. It also works with an Android and iOS app to collect and analyze data, remotely control music and click photos, and alert users to notifications like an incoming call, email, or WhatsApp message.
Lenovo is trying to set it apart from competition like the Mi Band 2 by touting its wearable’s heart rate monitor and anti-sleep mode. The first is meant to make sure people don’t overexert themselves during a workout by vibrating when their heart rate reaches a chosen threshold.

The HW01 comes with a regular mode where individuals can keep an eye on their heart rate at pre-defined intervals of time scattered across a day and sports mode where the device does the same every 15 minutes. As for the anti-sleep mode, the band is supposed to automatically wake people up if they doze outside of their set sleeping hours.
Lenovo points out that this could be useful in situations where a person is driving or working at night. In terms of specs, the device features a silicon strap, Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity, a 128 x 32p OLED screen, a 5-day battery life, and 22g weight.
Once again, you can buy the Lenovo HW01 now through Flipkart.
