Leica partners with Lenny Kravitz for M-P ‘Correspondent’ limited edition camera

That piece of beautiful retro equipment which you’re seeing in the space down below is the limited edition Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ camera crafted by the company in collaboration with Lenny Kravitz Design. It will be sold as a kit containing the body and two lenses, and if its $24500 price tag doesn’t manage to put you off, the fact that only 125 units have been created, definitely will.

Rockstar Lenny Kravitz will be releasing a limited edition book of his own black and white photographs soon, and this camera seems to be a nice attempt at promoting it. The Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ has been created by this own design firm by using the old Leicaflex as a blueprint.

To give it a retro look, the glossy black enamel of the camera and its two lenses have been intentionally aged in order to give them a rough look. The trim on this Leica camera is made up of durable snakeskin, and the same material is also used for its strap and its wrist strap, both of which are included in the kit, apart from a custom case.

The two lenses which the M-P ‘Correspondent’ camera comes bundled with are the Summicron-M 35mm and Summilux-M 50mm. The rangefinder-equipped snapper is touted to be the world’s most compact professional camera, making it an ideal travel partner for travel photographers and photojournalists.

$24500 is a pretty steep asking amount for the Lenny Kravitz special edition Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ camera, but again, it’s not meant for the usual consumer. And hence, only 125 units of it will be put on sale this March.
