It’s only been a week since LeEco CEO Jia Yueting took over as Coolpad’s chairman and the two companies have already come out with a new handset as a result of the collaboration. Dubbed the Cool 1 Dual, the smartphone’s biggest highlight is its dual-camera setup.
LeEco and Coolpad are both known for their affordable lineup of products and the Cool 1 Dual is no different. Its price starts at CNY 1099 (roughly $166 or Rs 11100) for the 3GB/32GB version, goes up to CNY 1499 (approx $226 or Rs 15100) for the 4GB/32GB variant, and finally tops out at CNY 1699 (about $257 or Rs 17100) for the 4GB/64GB model.
The Cool 1 Dual ships with two 13MP cameras on its back. One shoots photos in monochrome, while the other handles color. The system is similar to the Huawei P9’s twin-snapper setup. According to LeEco, the two together result in better-looking photos with a 20% increase in brightness, 8% reduction in noise, and 20% rise in image clarity.
