The makers of the LeapPad and Explorer tablets are back with an all new device dubbed the LeapPad2 that’s available for purchase in color schemes of green and pink as well as various bundles. It is designed for children aged between 3 and 9 years.
Along with access to a wide catalog of educational content comprising of games, music, videos, eBooks and more, the slate is said to be tough enough to withstand damages during playtime. Through the Cartoon Director download, kids will be able to create their own animated movies featuring themselves by snapping up a self portrait via the front-facing camera, and include a narrative with help from the microphone.

In comparison to its predecessor, the new release houses a beefier, 550MHz LF 2000 processor along with twice the on-board memory which amounts to 4GB. The overall usage time has been extended up to 9 hours, providing an additional hour of activity. The gadget houses a 5-inch 480 x 272p display and operates on 4 AA-sized batteries.
