The Moto 360 has all the makings of a being a perfect smartwatch according to us, but that seemingly comes with a little catch. Its price is expected to shoot as high as €249 which translates to roughly around $340 or Rs 20,000. Match that up with the retail values of its competitors and you get quite a big difference which cannot be ignored.
$299 is what you have to pay in order sport the Tizen-powered Gear 2 on your wrists. The Moto 360’s Android Wear-equipped competitor, the LG G Watch is also expected to cost somewhere around $275. The round form factor is the only main distinguishing factor between Motorola’s and LG’s respective smartwatches.
The leaked price of the Moto 360 comes from a French site named Journal du Geek which claims to have received it through its sources. Aggressive pricing has been the company’s motto of sorts with its recent products like the Moto G and the Moto E, but it appears that this smartwatch is forcing the maker from abandoning that virtue for now.
The news can also be untrue, so we’d advise you to take it with a grain of salt. We’ll keep digging for more information about the Moto 360, and will have the latest details ready when they’re out. Stay tuned till then.
