The Lava Iris X1 smartphone won a lot of popularity for its attractive looks and low retail tag, and the company is now expanding the lineup with the Grand and mini models. Both handsets offer the same alluring design as the original and cater to different price ranges.
The Lava Iris X1 Grand is basically a larger version of the original handset and it packs slightly better features. One of the main highlights is that the phone is upgradable to Lollipop and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat. A 5-inch FWVGA IPS display rests on the front with a 2MP camera, while an 8MP shooter can be found on the rear with dual LED flash and a BSI II sensor.
The back panel also flaunts a dotted textured finish. Coming to the internals, there’s nothing surprising here as you’ll find the usual 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor with Mali 400 graphics, 1GB RAM an 8GB of expandable storage. There’s dual SIM support and 3G HSPA+ connectivity as well as a 2200mAh battery.
The Iris X1 mini is as its name suggests, a compact smartphone. This phone looks no different compared to its larger siblings, but it does have toned-down hardware. The phone rocks a 1.2GHz quad core processor and it also features Android 4.4 KitKat preloaded. However, there’s no mention of whether it’ll be upgraded to Lollipop.
