The Iris 505 and Iris 506Q phablets have shown up, while the Lava Iris Pro series which was supposed to launch back in August is nowhere to be seen. The two smartphones are yet to pop up on the company’s website and even go official. Nevertheless, they’re already available for purchase through an online retailer in India.
The Lava Iris 505 is an entry-level smartphone that manages to deliver a 5-inch touchscreen on the front while maintaining a highly affordable price tag. The device is 9.5mm and comes with dual SIM support. It even has a dual core processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz. 512MB of RAM may seem insufficient, but it’s enough for the device to take full advantage of the Android 4.2 platform. Also, you get 4GB of flash storage, a microSDHC card slot, a VGA front camera, a 5MP rear snapper with LED flash and a 2000mAh battery which can deliver 6 and 4.5 hours of 2G and 3G talktime, respectively.
Coming to the Iris 506Q, this phone has the same display size, RAM, battery, cameras and storage as the aforementioned handset, but it’s slightly slimmer at 8.9mm. Instead of a dual core processor, the company has opted for a quad core one operating at 1.2GHz. There’s dual SIM support here as well, and connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which are even available on the 505.
You could either wait for the Iris 505 and Iris 506Q to go official, or purchase them now through Snapdeal. The former is priced at Rs 8,999 (link to buy), while the latter will set you back by Rs 11,700 (link to buy). Both smartphones are currently available in black only.
