Lava Iris 400Q quad core Android KitKat phone priced at just Rs 5499

Lava is soon to launch a modestly specced and therefore, affordable Android KitKat smartphone under the Iris 400Q branding, but an online retailer is a step ahead as the device is already up for grabs. The handset is priced at Rs 5499 and as you’d expect, it delivers entry-level specs including a quad core processor.

It’s no surprise that a retailer has put the Lava Iris 400Q on sale ahead of its official launch as this happens quite often. We’ve even come across devices that have gone official a month after being put up for grabs. As mentioned above, the handset is a basic one offering a 4-inch WVGA display and dual cameras (5MP rear-facing and VGA front).

The advantage here is that the device is fueled by a 1.2GHz quad core processor and accompanied by 1GB of RAM. Most other handsets deliver half of what those components offer in this price range. Apart from these features, the phone also has 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, dual SIM support and a 1700mAh battery that can deliver over 9 hours of talk time.

Here’s a roundup of the Lava Iris 400Q handset specifications:

– Android 4.4 KitKat
– 4-inch WVGA TFT display
– 1.2GHz quad core processor
– 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, 32GB expandable
– 5MP rear camera, VGA front
– 1700mAh battery
– Dual SIM support

Just a couple of days back, Lava launched its first selfie smartphone, the Iris X5, which features a 5MP wide angle lens on the front and a flash. The handset packs mid-range hardware and is tagged at just Rs 8799.
