RDP’s new ThinBook is India’s cheapest 14.1-inch laptop

Domestic IT hardware manufacturer RDP has turned its attention towards the consumer market with a brand new laptop dubbed the ThinBook. The company claims the notebook is the most affordable 14.1-inch laptop in India.

The RDP ThinkBook is certainly a top contender for the title thanks to its Rs 9999 price tag. The ultra-low cost is the gadget’s biggest appeal, stuffed as it is with a decent mix of entry-level specs. Diving straight into them, the device sports a 14.1-inch 1366 x 768p display and runs on Windows 10. In terms of memory, it contains 2GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM.

Users can expand on the ThinkBook’s storage capacity up to 128GB. The notebook gets its juice from a 10000mAh battery which the brand asserts can supply 8.5 hours of backup. Its daily activities are fueled by an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor which offers a base clock speed of 1.44GHz and turbo clock speed of 1.84GHz only.

RDP plans to sell 30000 to 40000 units of the budget offering during the current financial year. It’s also looking to launch more powerful variants of the gadget in the future. Other than the notebook, it also showcased a number of other products at an event in Telangana like 10.1-inch ThinBook 2-in-1 laptops, the ThinBook Convertible, 8-inch Gravity tablets, and the PlugPC.
