The HP ProBook 400 range and a new lineup of business laptops have been announced by the company, along with price details. Additionally, the company has also introduced the Scanjet sheet-feed scanner as well as LaserJet and Officejet printers that are aimed towards delivering high productivity with low operation charges for SMBs.
The 400 series comes in a wide catalog of options that comprise of 17.3-, 15.6-, 14- and 13.3-inch form factors. Each laptop is powered by either an Intel processor or some of the latest CPUs from AMD. Compared to the previous generation, the company has designed the new range to be around 36 percent thinner and 18 percent lighter. Notebooks here are dressed with a meteorite grey casing that’s complemented by aluminum accents. The 440, 450 and 470 devices are loaded with 500GB Hybrid HDDs, while the 430 variant comes with an SSD only. The estimated battery life is up to 8 hours.
The 430 G1 laptop will have a glass fiber construction instead, for a more lightweight and durable form factor. It features a spill-resistant keyboard and runs on the Windows 8 Pro OS. The company has thrown in various security tools and entertainment attributes for a rich experience. They include DTS Sound+, an HD webcam, BIOS protection and 3D DriveGuard to secure the hard drive by sensing movements, amongst others. Connectivity options comprise of USB 3.0, 4G LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Wireless Display.
Coming to the 200 series of business laptops, the company will make them available in 15.6- and 14-inch options tagging along a wide range of connectivity and multimedia features. They operate on processors from Intel and AMD and are wrapped in a user-friendly design. The 255 G1 packs in an AMD processor and GPU along with various essential tools that are built-in as well as enterprise-level enhancements from the company and Windows.
The HP ProBook 400 and 200 series business laptops are scheduled for release in the US sometime this month for starting rates of $499 and $249, respectively. The newly launched LaserJet Pro MFP M521, Enterprise M72, Officejet Pro 251dw and Officejet Pro 276dw MFP printers are available in the US along with the Scanjet Pro 3000 s2 sheet-feed scanner, while the Officejet 7610 is expected to go on sale in July.
