Refreshing its X Series of slim laptops, MSI has unleashed the new X460 and X460DX notebooks with better specifications. Aimed towards professionals on the go, both devices come powered by the second generation Intel Core processors and Intel integrated graphics or the Nvidia GPU.
With both hosting a 14-inch HD Glossy display with a screen resolution of 1366×768 pixels, the X460 is equipped with the Intel HD 300 graphics processor and runs on the Core i7 2630QM processor, providing clock speeds of 2.0GHz to 2.9GHz. Further on, for high storage needs, the laptop sports a 750GB hard disk drive. Also, complementing the CPU and GPU is the 6GB of DDR3 RAM.
Similar to the X460, the X460DX is bundled with the 1GB GDDR3 Nvidia GeForce GT540M graphic card and options of Intel’s Core i5-2410M or i3-2310M processor running at speeds of 2.3Ghz to 2.9Ghz and 2.1 GHz respectively. Additionally, users can choose between 6GB or 4GB of DDR3 RAM alongside the 500GB HDD.
“The X460 and X460DX takes our current X Series to another level, shrinking the power and performance of a larger notebook into a mobile unit with exceptional battery life. Crafted with the mobile professional in mind, these units feature a sleek design that reflects MSI’s pursuit for innovation and style,” expressed Andy Tung, Vice President of Sales for MSI US.
Both laptops are further packed with Wi-Fi b/g/n, 1.3MP camera, two USB 3.0 ports, 6 cell battery, HDMI output and the THX TruStudio PRO technology for high quality audio experience. For direct connectivity between the notebook and external displays, the X460 notebook features the Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) 2.0 technology that provides the same over Wi-Fi.
The MSI X Series laptops are available at a starting price of $799.99 on the Amazon and Newegg websites.
