A while ago, we had reported about Mumbai’s ‘Xplore Lounge’, which quite simply could be termed as a haven for gadget freaks. Recently, we visited the Lounge once again, but this time it was for the ongoing ‘Laptop Carnival’.
As the name itself suggests, you can expect to see a wide range of notebooks covering dozens of brands at the Laptop Carnival. Not only that, laptops for all kinds of users, be it student, professional or business are available with entry level models to high end ones on display here.
Laptop Carnival retains the same concept as Xplore Lounge’s previous event MP3 Mela. Here you can check out the displayed laptops in detail, receive guidance from representatives and then make a decision. Yes, here at the Laptop Carnival, there is no rush, as the concept of the Carnival is mainly to inform and educate consumers about different laptops of various ranges and brands.
In spite of its non-selling environment, which means that you can just look and decide what you want and not actually buy laptops, Laptop Carnival receives many visitors daily.
On display were several laptops from well-known brands such as Lenovo, Toshiba, Acer, LG, HCL and many more.
The entry level laptops that carry prices from Rs.30,000 to Rs.45,000, are meant for students, professionals as well as those who require a notebook with basic computing needs.
For those who require laptops with additional features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, handwriting and fingerprint recognition, face recognition capabilities, card readers and built-in cameras could go in for the higher level notebooks, some of which even have water-proof bodies. Of course, you will need to set aside a higher budget.
There were also several brands which displayed the latest innovations from the tech world including Tablet PCs that feature the trademark swivel feature (rotating monitor) and touch screen display.
And, for those who are constantly on the move, you could go in for the ultra-portable laptops that caught our eye at the Laptop Carnival. They weigh less than 2kg. Seriously, there are all kinds of laptops to suit just about everybody’s taste, needs and style.
And, how can we forget to mention the range of Macs that were on display at Laptop Carnival. We are sure photographers and members of the media would go crazy seeing so many of them on display.
Besides laptops, Xplore Lounge’s Laptop Carnival also housed a number of laptop accessories which included trendy and colorful laptop carrier bags.
Since Xplore Lounge has tied up with laptop dealers from all over Mumbai, visitors who find a suitable laptop can be guided to the nearest shop to actually make the purchase. Besides, as the financial partner of the Laptop Carnival, ICICI bank is offering various schemes that will help buyers when making a purchase.
As if that was not being helpful enough, Xplore Lounge’s Laptop Carnival is also playing host to an exclusive CHIP workshop that runs from June 25 to 27, 2007 at 4 p.m. The workshop will cover every topic under the sun when it comes to the question of ‘how to buy the right laptop?’
Well, if you are looking out far and wide for that perfect laptop, then Laptop Carnival is surely the place to visit. Here you will be guaranteed to receive guidance as well as individual treatment from the brand representatives.
Laptop Carnival runs from June 14, 2007 through July 5, 2007 from 11.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lamington Road. Check out this video of our Laoptop Carnival Experience.
