Kodak’s unique Ektra smartphone is finally going to hit availability on December 9, a few months after it was initially announced. The phone caters mostly to photography lovers who’d like to own a blend of modern technology with a vintage twist.
At a €499 (roughly $531 or Rs 36260) price tag, the Kodak Ektra is a premium phone through and through. It’s been outfitted in a textured leather finish with a steel-rimmed lens and a sloping bottom design. The huge 21MP autofocus rear camera is the star of the show here, getting blessed with a non-reflective lens coating, PDAF, dual-LED Flash, OIS, and 4K video capture.
The Ektra further offers a host of options to bring about a DSLR-esque experience on board. An SLR-style Scene Selection Dial gives access to a number of settings such as Portrait, HDR, Macro, Bokeh, and Sport. A Smart Auto mode lets the device select the best settings, while a Manual mode allows users to adjust ISO, exposure, shutter speed, white balance, and focus.

It’s even including a Prints application to give buyers an easy way to get a physical copy of their snaps.
