The Kobo Mini will see a huge drop in its price for customers in the US, making it about $50 lighter. The tag attached to the device is that of the world’s smallest full-featured eReader, and this promotional offer will only be available for limited period, just in the window of the Christmas shopping rush.
The Mini sports a 5-inch E Ink screen which cuts out the glare for easy reading. The screen size also makes it highly portable and very convenient to carry around. The company says the handheld e-book reader gives users an experience which is just like reading print on paper which lasts about a month on the go.
With 2GB of internal memory storage, it can hold approximately 1000 e-books. An 800MHz processor makes for a fluid reading experience which is further enhanced by 7 font styles and 24 font sizes. There’s also microUSB as well as wireless connectivity to transfer content.
The simple monotone device doesn’t feature a camera or speakers and at 134g, is meant exclusively for reading purposes. It comes in shades of black and white, but the company offers three additional snap-on back covers in teal, red and purple to extend the gadget’s style factor.
The Kobo Mini will be made available in the US at $49.99 down from an original listing of $79.99. Potential buyers in the region will be able to pick it up only from December 21 to December 23, 2012, for said cost.
This holiday promotion also comes to the UK, with customers there being able to purchase the above-mentioned eReader for £49.99 and the Kobo Touch for £59.99 from now until the end of the month.
