Kingston Technology has released DDR2-800, a fully buffered dual-inline memory (FB-DIMM), in India. The memory product has been developed and validated specifically for Apple Mac Work Pro workstations and Xserve systems.
DDR2-800 memory kits can deliver upto 25.6 GB/s bandwidth with four memory channels active, matching the band-width of Quad-Core Xeon processors, the latest ones in the market. They are available in the capacities of 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB. The 2 GB and 4 GB capacities provide scope for upgrading as it leaves plenty of headroom for future RAM expansion.
“Kingston is a member of the Apple Developer Connection and our new DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs were thoroughly tested at the Apple validation labs on their latest 8-Core Xeon Mac Pro Workstation to ensure product quality and compatibility,” said Ann Bai, Product Manager, DRAM Memory, APAC Region, Kingston. “To optimize performance, we recommend upgrading Mac Pro memory to at least four FB-DIMMs to enable running in quad-channel mode.”
Delivering up to 25.6 GB/s bandwidth with four memory channels active, Kingston DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs match the bandwidth needs of the latest Quad-Core Xeon processors. The 2 GB and 4 GB DDR2-800 FB-DIMMs enable a flexible upgrade path while leaving enormous headroom for future RAM expansion.
The memory kits come with a lifetime warranty and free technical support.
