Kingston has announced the launch of a new USB flash drive named DataTraveler (DT) Locker, in the Indian market. The latest USB drive offers a convenient and secure way to store and backup digital data.
The drive features a rugged design with a metal casing that surrounds and protects a rubberized chassis that swivels open to reveal the USB connector.
The DataTraveler Locker features 56-bit AES encryption through a dedicated co-processor that encrypts data “on the fly.” Sadly, the Password Protection and Data Encryption function is compatible with only Windows Vista (32 bit only), 2000 (SP4) and XP (SP1, SP2).
Otherwise the drive can work with Mac and Linux OS with file transfer function.
The privacy partition is accessed via password entry. For preventing unauthorized access, the drive locks down and reformats after ten unsuccessful attempts.
“Given the increasing importance of the business information and personal data protection, we decided to develop the DT Locker which combines top-notch security features with an attractive consumer price point,” said Nitin Malhotra, Country Manager, Kingston Technology, India. “The ability to create a public and private zone allows users to have maximum flexibility in the use of their DataTraveler Locker.”
The DT Locker comes in three different capacities – 2GB, 4GB and 8GB. The 2GB DT Locker will be available at Locker Rs. 1995, while the 4GB and 8GB will cost Rs. 3455 and Rs. 8199 respectively.
