Kindle Touch series pays an early visit to the UK

Kindle Touch UK

The Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G eReaders from Amazon have already hit availability status in the UK. Both devices have apparently launched a week ahead of their scheduled release date and can be purchased through the company’s UK website for £109 and £169, respectively.

Equipped with a 6-inch eInk Pearl display that has a 600 x 800 pixel resolution at 167ppi, the Kindle Touch family comes with access to digital content such as books, newspapers, magazines, audio books, games and documents. Through the intuitive multi-touch screen, users should be able to flip between pages, search stuff, take notes and even make purchases without breaking a sweat. Both eReaders have a maximum hoarding capacity of 3,000 books or 4GB of data.

“Orders from customers worldwide for our new line of electronic ink Kindles have exceeded our expectations,” expressed Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice president, Kindle EU. “Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G are the most full-featured eReaders available with a beautiful, latest-generation electronic ink display, fast page turns and long, two month battery life. We know that UK customers are eager to get their hands on these new Kindles, which is why we’re delighted to be able to ship several days earlier than we planned.”

The maximum battery life on these eReaders is said to be up to 2 months on a single charge.

The Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G price tags read as £109 and £169, respectively. As we’ve already mentioned, both devices are available for purchase through the Amazon UK website.
