Kindle MatchBook service offers digital copies of paperbacks purchased via Amazon

Amazon’s Kindle MatchBook service has gone live and the e-retailers now offer digital copy of paperbacks people purchase from the online store. Users can lay their hands on Kindle versions of the books by paying $2.99 or less and a number of these books are also available for free.

This service is valid for each and every customer who bought a paperback from the Amazon eStore right from the portal’s conception back in 1995. Close to 70,000 books have already been enrolled in MatchBook and the company is doing its best to add more and more titles to the archive. The ones that have already been added include Goodnight Construction Site, Life of Pi, The Bonfire of the Vanities, The Alchemist and All-New X-MEN Vol. 1 to name a few.

Kindle MatchBook

Kindle MatchBook was announced back in September with 10,000 books and the company has added 60,000 titles within a span of less than 2 months. Some paperbacks by Kindle Direct Publishing authors have also found their way into MatchBook’s archives and other KDP writers who have print versions can register their titles for the service.

These Kindle versions are pretty cheap and are priced at either $2.99, $1.99, $0.99 or free. And in case you have forgotten which titles you have purchased from Amazon since 1995, the company brings your entire print book order history at your disposal. And what’s more, you can expect features like Whispersync, Popular Highlights or X-Ray with these digital copies that are compatible with all Kindle products and applications.

As we already said, the Amazon Kindle MatchBook service is now available with 70,000 Kindle editions of paperbacks.
