Ken’s Rage 2, Mega Man 2 on this week’s Nintendo Download

Ken's Rage 2

This week’s helping of titles on the Nintendo Download includes Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 for the Wii U and Mega Man 2 on the 3DS. Sadly, the new home console gets just one game digitally released this time around, although the company’s handheld receives quite a generous offering.

FotNS

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 is an action manga title that recreates the martial arts and the battles that ensue. It recently hit the PSN and features some intense sequences with hordes of enemies combining the best of the Fist of the North Star and the Warriors series. A Dream Mode sheds light on events that have happened in between episodes, while online cooperative and versus playing modes are also available. Up to 8 players can jump into the action and DLC is planned for a release in the future.

Mega Man 2

Mega Man 2 was originally released in 1989 and sees the return of Dr. Wily with a new breed of robot. Mega Man must do it all over again to save the world. And it undoubtedly has more stages and robot bosses than the first. The Capcom game is available for the 3DS on the eShop and can be purchased at a price of $4.99.

Rayman 3D

Next up Rayman 3D gets a digital release. It has been available on the handheld console since March 2011 and brings along an explosion of diverse 3-dimensional environments. Immersive graphics and one of Ubisoft’s most iconic characters combine in an action adventure title with an improved learning curve.

Splinter Cell 3D

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D is another Ubisoft game to get an eShop release this week. The action all starts when Sam Fisher is sent behind enemy lines to stop World War II. The title features optimized controls, enhanced weapons and cinematic 3D. It will test players’ skills with its futuristic infiltration mechanics.

Etrian Odyssey IV

The last for the 3D console this time around is a demo of Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. It has already come to Japan but role-playing game fans in the US must wait until February 26 for a chance at it. The title will have a great degree of customization and deep character creation, with players boarding their sky ship as they explore the map.

Ah! Heaven

Finally, the last game buried in the offering is Ah! Heaven for the Nintendo DSi. The platformer is for one player and has been created in an Eastern ink painting style. Gameplay consists of a mix of simple controls and 24 challenging stages depicting actual places around the world.

Concentration Training

On a small side note, Brain Age: Concentration Training – a demo of which was launched on the eShop towards the end of January – will be made available on February 10 at retail and via Nintendo’s online platform. Meanwhile Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 3D will be peek out on February 12.

That’s it for this week’s Nintendo Download. Once again, the VC for the Wii home console has been given the cold shoulder. And remember to check back here next week for more releases.
