Karbonn has decided to enter the virtual reality business with the launch of a VR headset and 2 VR-ready smartphones. The company is looking to bring VR to the masses with the new products and has such priced the new Quattro L52 at Rs 8790 and Titanium Mach 6 at Rs 7490.
The Karbonn VR Glasses will come bundled with the Quattro L5 and Titanium Mach 6. It’s made out of ABS plastic fiber and uses bi-convex lenses to deliver a theater-esque experience while watching a video. The brand has additionally supplied the phone with a VR app in order to let viewers shoot their own VR videos.
They can do so through the Quattro L52’s 8MP autofocus main camera which comes equipped with LED flash, an aperture of f/2.2 and a Sony sensor. The unit is paired with a 5MP front-facing fixed-focus selfie snapper. The 4G-ready device additionally houses a 5.5-inch 720p IPS 2.5D glass-encased screen and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
In terms of storage, the dual-SIM Karbonn phone packs 16GB of internal space and 2GB of RAM. The former can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. It’s powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor of unknown make. The handset derives its juice from a 2250mAh battery which is supposed to deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time.
The Karbonn Titanium Mach 6 sports almost the same set of specs as the Quattro L52 except for a few key differences. It features a huge 6-inch HD display and much bigger 3300mAh battery. However, it has a 3.2MP front snapper and does not support 4G connectivity. This might explain why it’s cheaper than the other.
