Only recently, the MIPS-based Smart Tab 1 had received the Jelly Bean update and now the company has rolled out its successor, the Karbonn Smart Tab 2, in India. Although this new tablet is powered by the Android 4.0.3 platform, it can be upgraded to binge on the latest Jelly Bean OS.
The internal working of the device is carried out under the supervision of a 1.2GHz Xburst processor and 512MB RAM. Its front panel has been fitted with a glass TFT capacitive 5-point multi-touch display that spans across 7 inches. A 2MP front-mounted camera has been added for capturing pictures, videos as well as facilitating video conferencing on the move.
This Karbonn device ships with 4GB internal memory which can be expanded further with the help of a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. The Bluetooth-enabled slab can play 1080p HD videos and extends support to file formats like MP3 and MP4 amongst others. Its built-in Wi-Fi allows users to get access to the internet, wherever there is an available hotspot, while an external USB dongle makes it compatible with 3G networks.
Furthermore, the Smart Tab 2 is deployed with a 3D G-sensor and is embedded with an HDMI port for watching the tablet’s content on a big screen TV. It draws power from a 3700mAh battery which can cough up the juice for music listening time of up to 25 hours or about 7 hours of uninterrupted internet browsing.
The Karbonn Smart Tab 2 price in India is pegged at Rs. 6,990 through Snapdeal and it can now be purchased from the e-retailer.
