Old and new iDevices alike are all set to receive some fresh software from Apple’s iLife collection, as it has updated the iMovie and GarageBand apps while also releasing iPhoto. According to the Cupertino company, its suite of applications for iOS is now complete with these latest developments.

The new iPhoto app is said to be an entirely reworked version of the original photography software. It should now be able to properly utilize the Retina display technology which offers a saturation of colors and pixels. In addition to this, the application will also support multi-touch gestures on the iPhone and the iPad.

“With the introduction of iPhoto, we’ve brought the entire suite of iLife apps to iOS and users are going to love it,” commented Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Whether brushing an effect onto a photo, shooting a movie trailer or jamming with friends to record a song, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand let you make amazing creations on iPad and iPhone.”

The iMovie overhaul brings in features which should let users adorn their videos with movie-like attributes. Theater view offers a selection of nine templates in various genres like superhero, fairy tale, romance and more. GarageBand has been upgraded with Jam Session where up to three users can connect wirelessly to play music and record it like a band. Apart from this, the iWork app has been updated to enable the use of 3D charts in landscape as well as portrait modes.

The iPhoto, iMovie 1.3 and GarageBand 1.2 app prices in the Apple App Store are revealed to be $4.99 each.
