It’s looking more and more certain that Apple will be releasing a bevy of new iPhone colors this year. After Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang and TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it’s now Japanese blog Macotakara’s turn to chime in.
All three are predicting that the 6.1-inch budget iPhone AKA iPhone 9 will be sold in multiple colors. The only problem is, each has a different idea of what Apple will come up with. Zhang is putting his money on blue, yellow and pink. Kuo is a true believer in white, blue, gray, red, orange and yellow.
New iPhone Colors
Macotakara’s supplier sources are telling it that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be sold in white, black, flash yellow, bright orange, taupe, gold, and electronic blue. The publication says the paint jobs will be similar to the current iPhone silicone and leather cases.
There’s notably no red in its list. Maybe Apple is reserving that for its annual RED charity event in the middle of the year. The last time the brand launched so many colors at the same time was with the iPhone 5c, but that didn’t turn out to be a huge hit. Still, it’s high time for a splashy change which will help revitalize sales.
The OLED iPhone X sequel and iPhone X Plus are also expected to get a new gold color option. Apple buffs may remember that the company had actually made a gold iPhone X last year and went as far as clearing it with the US FCC. It never came to light though, so it looks like 2018 will be the year we finally see it.
The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is probably going to cost somewhere between $600 to $700. The 5.8-inch iPhone X could reduce down to $899 this year. The 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus may start at a $999 price tag.
