Apple’s officially launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in a shiny red color option, just as it did last year for the iPhone 7. Unlike the latter though, the new variants have a black front instead of a white one.
As always, Apple will donate a portion of the proceeds from the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED models to support Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants. The color is the only difference, with both the glass back and aluminum frame getting dipped in red. All other features remain the same as the regular variants.
Even the price is the same as before. The 64GB iPhone 8 (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition will sell at $699 in the US and Rs 67940 in India. The 256GB iPhone 8 (PRODUCT)RED is set to go for $849 and Rs 81500. The 64GB iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED climbs up to $799 and Rs 77560, while the 256GB one is going to be available at $949 and Rs 91110.
Sadly, the iPhone X hasn’t been done up in rouge. There have been rumors of a Blush Gold/(PRODUCT)RED variant, but there’s no sign of that here. Perhaps the next generation of iPhones will have it as an option. Till then, Apple’s released a new $99 (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio made out of European leather.
