iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 has managed to continue its tremendous sales record even in China, where it has been observed that it sold over two million units in its first weekend. Apple released this information earlier today while also revealing that the device is all set to be made available in more than 100 countries by the end of this year. That makes it the fastest rollout for any version of the device ever.

Calling the customer response to the smartphone in China ‘incredible,’ the company’s CEO, Tim Cook disclosed that it has managed to set a new record due to its surprising first weekend sales in the country. Just prior to this release, Apple had also launched two of its other important products, namely the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad in the country. All three devices can now be picked up online as well as via authorized dealers and resellers.

Handset

Revealed for the first time in September this year, the newest iteration of the popular handset was quick to grab headlines, as its pre-orders had managed to cross the 2 million mark within just 24 hours of being made available. And upon its retail release, the device was able to trade off 5 million units during its first weekend. This magnanimous success is expected to continue, since Apple has already disclosed that it will be launching the handset in over 100 countries by the end of December.

Being sold in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, this smartphone boasts of a number of fresh features. Under its hood, it carries an A6 processor which handles all its operations, while its exterior is highlighted by a 4-inch Retina display. An 8MP camera sits at the back of the device, and at its front lies a 1.2MP FaceTime HD snapper with the ability to capture videos at 720p. The handset comes with new and improved headphones called the Apple EarPods. Another important changes is its Lightning connector which is much smaller than the one on the previous devices.

The iPhone 5 can now be purchased in a number of countries including China. Information regarding its launch in other nations will be dished out soon.
