The details on the iPhone 5 release date for India could be coming soon. The evidence? The Apple page for the country which shows a ‘Coming soon’ beside the device image. While Cupertino has laid out plans to sell the handset in over a 100 nations before the year’s end, India is certainly not mentioned among the second batch of regions which will welcome the phone on September 28.
On September 21, the US, the UK, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, France, Canada and Australia rolled out the carpet for the iDevice. This Friday, that’s on September 28, 22 more countries are set to witness the smartphone’s launch. These areas include Belgium, Finland, Austria, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland and Italy. The list also covers Poland, Hungary, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, New Zealand, Sweden and Switzerland.
With manufacturers like Samsung not delaying too much when it comes to letting out new products in India, it’d hardly do well for Apple to wait on unsteady feet for a propitious launch window. Our best guess is that the sixth generation iDevice could be out by next month. Airtel is likely to host the iPhone 5 India launch, but don’t expect 4G LTE service packages with it. Cupertino will not be supporting the network in this region as evidenced on its page showing the areas in which the handset can latch onto 4G LTE bands.
While the iPhone 5 India price will clearly have to wait until Apple decides to give the official nod, we’re not expecting it to fall too far away from the same tags the 4S held for its 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions. The speculation is merely based on the assumption that the company may find it slightly difficult to encourage healthy demand for a smartphone that’s priced too high in this particular market.
