Iomega has introduced its eGo Portable Hard Drive family in higher capacity and dual interface models. Now, you can get these hard drives in 160GB and 250GB storage capacity with dual USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 interfaces. Also announced was the new 250GB USB 2.0-powered eGo Portable Hard Drive models which come in three colors- Cherry Red, Midnight Blue and Jet Black.These new eGo Portable Hard Drive models are being showcased at the ongoing Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco.
So popular has the 160GB USB 2.0 Powered portable hard drive become ever since its launch in June 2007, that it received rave reviews and awards from prestigious technology publications.

All of the hard drives in Iomega’s eGo family are 2.5-inches in size, making them very portable and easy to store. They also have very elegantly curved chassis that are available in many colors, each of which has chrome endcaps, distinguishing these drives from any other.
The best part is that you will not need any power supply when using the USB port on the eGo Drives. The dual interface models are perfect for storage, backup and archive support on both PC and Mac computing systems.
The newly launched 160GB eGo Portable Hard Drive is able to store around 6,40,000 photos, over 2,900 hours of music or 240 hours of video. The 250GB eGo Poartble Hard Drive can store up to 1 million photos, over 4,600 hours of music or 375 hours of video!
All of the Portable Hard Drives from Iomega are compatible with Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home/ Professional/ Professional x64 and Vista. And, they are also compatible with Mac OS X 10.1.5 or above.
The eGo hard drives come with the EMC Retrospect software which allows users to conduct automatic backups, schedule backups or on-demand backups.
Lastly, the DropGuard technology data safety feature protects the eGo drive from accidental damage caused by drops of up to 51 inches.
The newly launched Iomega 160GB 2.0 Powered eGo Portable Hard Drives are now available in Cherry Red, Midnight Blue and Jet Black for a price of $139.95, while the 160GB Dual Interface model costs $159.95. The 250GB Dual Interface eGo Portabel Hard Drive carries a price tag of $229.95, while the 250GB USB 2.0 Powered model costs $209.95.
