Intex Aqua N8 and Cloud X12 are highly affordable and basic Android smartphones

Potential smartphone buyers in India looking for affordable options running Android, two new Intex smartphones have gone on sale in the country. The Aqua N8 is a quad core 4.5-inch handset, while the Cloud X12 is at the bottom of the specs sheet carrying basic hardware that’s just enough to run Android.

The Rs 8,990 Intex Aqua N8 is an entry-level smartphone that offers pretty decent specifications. The handset falls in the 4.5-inch category carrying a FWVGA touchscreen. You get Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running the show, while performance is delivered through a 1.3GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor. Other features of this handset comprise of an 8MP main camera, a 2MP front webcam, dual SIM with 3G support, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage and a 1750mAh battery.

Intex Aqua N8

The Cloud X12 is the cheaper of the two. Priced at Rs 4,290, this smartphone offers version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in a 3.5-inch form factor. The hardware components here are the lowest you can expect on Android. The touchscreen has a WVGA resolution and the handset is powered by a single core Cortex A5 processor that’s clocked at 1GHz.

Where memory is concerned, you get a mere 256MB of RAM and just 512MB of internal storage. Also, there’s a 2MP camera on the rear. The main highlight here is the 2100mAh Li-ion battery which is quite large for such a phone.

Cloud X12
