Intex is no great shakes at introducing eye-catching smartphones. So we’re assuming it’s pretty confident about the new Aqua i7 considering the fact that the price tag is practically double the Aqua i5’s.
Starting from September 9, potential customers in India will be able to pick up the Aqua i7 for Rs 21,900. The company will also be throwing in a flip cover, a screen guard, a limited edition keychain and a pen. The last mentioned will be autographed by Bollywood actor/director Farhan Akhtar who has been roped in to promote the phone.
Specifications
The Aqua i7 works on Jelly Bean 4.2 and a 1.5GHz quad core processor. It’s been built to fit into the phablet segment with its 5-inch screen. This 1280 x 1080p full HD display is protected from bumps and scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass. There’s also a special and not done to death (insert sarcastic wink) Look Away feature which pauses playback when your eyes wander away from the screen.
2GB of RAM assists the chipset in keeping things up and running. A 13MP camera serves as the main lens, while there’s a 5MP one on the front. Though Intex has mentioned 32GB of onboard storage, there’s nothing about a microSD card slot for expandability. Taking into account its diverse customer base, the company has included a Matrabhasha tool which allows users to operate the handset in any of 22 Indian regional languages.
So what do you think? Worth the money or would you prefer to pick from other Android competitors? Micromax Canvas 4 for one will offer you a slightly better deal at a lower price.
