Budget-friendly phones including the Intex Aqua HD are narrowing the gap between performance and price. These smartphones basically aim to deliver a high-end experience by leveraging low-cost alternatives and they’re getting better at it over time. Take the Xiaomi Mi3 and Meizu MX3 for instance. The company’s recently launched Aqua i7 flagship is also a very good example of this.
The Aqua HD recently made its debut in India, but is yet to receive official recognition from Intex. The handset is a mid-range installment that’s quite slim at 7.9mm and not very heavy, weighing 133 grams. Fitted within dimensions of 137.5mm x 67.4mm is a 720p HD touchscreen that spans 4.7 inches wide. A 5MP snapper has been fitted onto the front for high quality video calling, while a higher resolution 13MP AF camera can be found on the rear with LED flash for recording videos and capturing images. Now, coming to the most important part – The Intex Aqua HD is powered by Android 4.2 which gains steam from a quad core 1.2GHz MTK 6589 processor.
Memory needs are taken care of by 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and a microSDHC card slot. Like all budget-friendly phones, this also comes in a dual SIM configuration, an odd one actually. A microSIM and a miniSIM card slot has been provided, one supporting GSM, while the other compatible with WCDMA networks. Also, you’ll be treated to the usual set of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS amongst others.
The Intex Aqua HD is available for purchase through Infibeam for Rs 15,900 in white. The device will ship in 4 to 5 days of purchase.
