LinkedIn now features a Group Statistics dashboard to help users’ figure out which group to plunge into and more. Members can also track the direction in which their group is headed with the help of the group statistics tool that highlights demographics, growth, and activity.
The demographics reveals who’s in the group, where they are from, what industry they represent as well as the position held there. The next tool is growth and as the name suggests, the networking site’s users can view new additions that have been made to the group. Additionally, there is the activity panel on the dashboard that throws light on the discussions and comments made by the group.
“The new Group Statistics tool focuses on three areas: demographics, growth, and activity. We’ve designed each infographic view to highlight the most important signals you’ll need to help you understand your group better,” shares Anita Lillie, data visualization designer at LinkedIn.
The activity panel also brings forth a group’s job and promotion counts along with highlighting how active the member are during discussions. The official LinkedIn blog points out that the data on the dashboard is updated on a daily basis so users know that they are viewing very recent numbers. Additionally, this feature is available for all groups and can be viewed by anyone on the network. Plus, any particular view from the dashboard can also be shared via this networking site as well as Twitter.
This ability to gather data about groups by simply glancing at the Group Statistics dashboard on LinkedIn is sure to be beneficial to professionals who are hard pressed for time.
