Gamers around the world know exactly what is going to take place on April 29, 2008. In case you aren’t one of them, Rockstar Games is releasing the much-awaited Grand Theft Auto IV. This is not all; Rockstar is also launching a new Web site called Rockstar Social Club which claims to extend gamers’ experiences of GTA IV as well as future titles from Rockstar.

Grand Theft Auto IV happens to be the first game to be featured in the Rockstar Social Club.

You can expect the Rockstar Social Club to be much more than just a standard and basic gaming site. It will offer gamers a chance to view statistical leaderboards, besides offering them performance-based competitions and awards.

Besides, the Rockstar Social Club will also offer a host of other features such as:

  • LCPD Police Blotter- A virtual map and tracker of singler-player criminal activity logged in Liberty City from all connected players’ data. It shows you the most dangerous parts of town and most commonly used weapons.
  • The Story Gang- This is a special single-player leaderboard which recognizes players who complete Niko Bellic’s main story arc of GTA IV
  • The 100% Club- Here, you can watch to see who will be the first to complete 100% of the game. The first 10 people will be sent an ultra-rare commemorative ‘key to the city’ to mark their accomplishment!
  • The Hall of Fame- This area will recognize those elite players who have reached the top on various statistical leaderboards. It will also contain a personal awards display of special in-game landmarks in Social Club competitions.
  • The Liberty City Marathon- This shows a ranking of special physical milestones achieved in the game right from the amount of miles walked, driven or swam to the number of bullets fired and stunt-jumps performed.
  • The Rockstar Social Blub Web site will launch on April 29 this year along with Grand Theft Auto IV. But, registration for the Rockstar Social Club begins on April 15. Anyone can sign up with their Xbox Gamertag and/or PlayStation Network ID.
