In an attempt to enhance public interest and support of its Parliament, the Chinese government is trying to create web blogs in order to successfully communicate with citizens. As for now, only eight out of a huge amount of around 5,000-plus assigned have been permitted to post, many more have applied.
Though most entries are not shockingly party oriented, few seem to air some of the discontents of China’s 1.3 billion inhabitants. Representative Pan Shiyi was quoted in the Associated Press as writing about how he disagrees with the new city construction underway in the country that divides the rich and the poor, and promised to deal with the issue during his tenure.
The state-owned People’s Daily newspaper runs the blog site. The blogs, in Chinese, can be found at blog.people.com.cn.
