Indonesia to Censor Porn Sites through Special Software

Porn Sites to be Banned The Indonesian government has passed a bill saying that accessing porn or violent internet sites is a crime. According to the new law, anyone found guilty can be jailed for up to three years or else they would be slapped with a heavy fine.

The government is being careful especially for children who need maximum protection from online porn and violent content.

“I think we all agree there’s no way we can save this nation by spreading pornography, violence and ethnic hostility”, said the Information Minister, Mohammad Nuh.

Reportedly, the Indonesian government will start censoring internet for such banned access from next month. This work would be done with the help of specialized software.

However, there are criticisms against the law saying that the government has not defined the term “pornography” while passing the bill.
