The Android 5.0 Lollipop treat has finally arrived for the Indian models of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 phablet. This last-gen device is getting its software package in the form of an OTA download as well as through the company’s Kies client software.
As revealed by SamMobile, this applies to the SM-N9000 model of the smartphone, which is sold in India with the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset onboard. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was till now running a build of the Android 4.4 KitKat OS of course.
There’s no changelog available for the phone’s Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but we can guess that all the main features of the software will indeed be present in it, apart from the Samsung’s TouchWiz offerings. This is probably the last big update that this 2013 smartphone will be getting from its manufacturer.
The Galaxy Note 3 bears on it a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display which showcases its visuals in 1080p full HD resolution. This phone grabs a 13MP main camera and a 2MP front snapper, aside from a 3200mAh user replaceable battery. While its Indian model runs a Samsung-made octa core processor, there’s a Snapdragon 800 CPU-based variant of it present as well.
Here’s a nice look at the main specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9000):
