The most-certain-to-launch-in-India BlackBerry Z3 may not have been officially acknowledged by the Canadian company in its invite to the Indian press, but judging by a past leak, we’re quite certain that it’s set to hit India this week. Its price which is set to fall on the affordable side, will be the most important factor for BlackBerry to consider.
This device is the first from the company to be manufactured in partnership with Foxconn. It was only meant for Indonesia during its launch, but it looks like the phone is all set to break its exclusivity to the said country where it is sold as the Blackberry Z3 Jakarta Edition. It is the first entry-level BB 10-equipped device.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset equipped with an ARM-based 1.2GHz dual core processor and an Adreno 305 GPU fuel the phone from within. There’s 1.5GB worth of RAM present on this setup as well. The Z3 kicks in a 5-inch 540 x 960 pixel (220ppi) display, a 5MP camera and 8GB of flash memory.
With budget-focused Android devices having the days of the lives right now and Windows Phone handsets too joining the league, it is very crucial for the Z3 to have its price set competitively. Its original cost is 2199000 Indonesian bucks, and its conversion in Indian rupees comes to around Rs 11000. Although we cannot expect that to be the final price of the handset in the country, it is indeed expected to hover around that mark.
The event that’s most likely to see the BlackBerry Z3 unveiled for India is scheduled to take place on June 25. Stay tuned till then.
